Science and belief – a graphical history

Here’s a short (and grossly oversimplified) graphical illustration of the rise of science and its effect on supernatural beliefs. This was inspired by a friend on the Atheists and Christians Facebook page – thanks Wes!

    Like.

    And I should point out that this wouldn’t work if supernatural explanations were banned in principle. Having them not work out in practice is far more damning.

    And when people *do* deny supernatural explanations on principle, that principle goes something like “supernatural explanations have failed so often in the past that, as a class, they can be considered unpromising”.
