Death in Egypt, and a close-minded evangelist

Two quick comments:

1. More lives lost fighting over whose invisible friend is better. Tragic.

2. A pastor in Texas reveals just how blinkered he is by his own beliefs. After causing a stir by calling Mormonism a “cult”, he tells Reuters “Absolutely, Mormonism is a false religion. It was invented 1800 years after the establishment of Christianity.”

Ah, so any religion that comes on the scene hundreds of years after Christianity is, by default, a false religion. (Never mind that Christianity itself came on the scene hundreds of years after countless other religious beliefs.) That, right there, is the narrow, distorted view of reality that religious belief sometimes imposes.
