Two researchers at Johns Hopkins University claim to have spotted an anatomical rendering of part of the human brain hidden in a Michelangelo painting.
I’m with Joanna Woods-Marsden, art history professor at UCLA, on this one. She says “My initial reaction on looking at the illustrations is that this is complete nonsense, to put it politely”. Indeed.
People complain about government funds being assigned to things like shrimp fishing research, but where are the complaints about perfectly bright people wasting money playing “Where’s Waldo?” with Michelangelo paintings?
